History & Artisans

This basket is woven by artisan families from Michoacán, Mexico, who work with fibers such as bulrush and chuspata, aquatic plants obtained from the region's lakes. The bulrush is dried in the sun and then moistened before weaving to regain flexibility. Each piece is carefully handcrafted, incorporating braided handles and preserving traditional weaving techniques.

Care instructions
  • Avoid constant humidity and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
  • If used as a planter, place a plate or internal protector to avoid direct moisture on the fiber.
Circular life cycle

Bulrush is a natural and biodegradable plant fiber that can be composted at the end of its useful life. By choosing pieces made with natural fibers and artisanal processes, you support more conscious, durable, and responsible consumption.
