History & Artisans

This basket is woven by artisan families from Michoacán, Mexico, who work with fibers such as bulrush and chuspata, aquatic plants obtained from the region's lakes. The bulrush is sun-dried and moistened before weaving to regain flexibility. Each piece is carefully crafted by hand, preserving traditional weaving techniques.

If used as a planter, place a plate or internal protector to avoid direct moisture on the fiber.
